Independent status

The Hoeflin Power Test Exposure Watch is an independent research project. It is not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by Ronald Hoeflin, the Mega Society, or the operators of any website cited as a source. Nothing on this site should be read as an official statement about the Power Test, its scoring, or its administration.

Research purpose

The project documents where and how material related to the Hoeflin Power Test has become publicly discoverable online, so that anyone interpreting unsupervised scores — researchers, society administrators, or candidates themselves — can see the exposure record. The site documents exposure; it never extends it. No answer values, solution steps, or decisive methods are stored or displayed, and findings are redacted to describe exposure without reproducing it.

Source verification

Every finding cites its source. Where possible, the source is retrieved and its content confirmed before a finding is marked verified; each finding also carries a confidence level (high, medium, or low). Sources that are archived, inaccessible, deleted, or otherwise unconfirmable are retained in the record but treated as unverified leads — they are labelled as such and are not presented as confirmed evidence. Archived copies (for example, Wayback Machine snapshots) are cited with their archive URL when the original is gone.

Dates

Findings show a discovery date — when this project found and recorded the material — which is not the same as the source's original publication date. Where the original publication date is known, it appears in the finding's source details. Page-level "last updated" information reflects the last significant change to the record, not routine redeployments of the site.

Classification levels

The audit classifies each of the 36 Power Test items by exposure severity:

  • High — a prompt, candidate answer, worked solution, or decisive method for the item is publicly discoverable.
  • Medium — substantive public discussion or partial hints exist that could materially assist a candidate.
  • Low — no significant exposure beyond the test's own publication has been documented.

Classification records public availability. It does not confirm that any published material is a correct or official answer. Full definitions and the classification matrix are in the audit document and methodology.

Corrections

If a finding is shown to be wrong — a misattributed source, an incorrect classification, a dead link recorded as live — the record is corrected and the correction is noted in the audit document's corrections section rather than silently overwritten. Documented correction history is part of the audit's published record.

Authorship

The project is published pseudonymously as the Hoeflin Power Test Exposure Watch and does not currently list individual author or editor credentials. No contact mechanism is published at this time; corrections identified in the record are handled through the process described above.
